Macdolly Ostentatious, or 'Osten' as he is affectionately known, was a superb showman and accumulated many wins in the show rings.

A bit of an ugly duckling, he didn't have a lot of wins in the Baby Classes, but he suddenly blossomed at six months of age, giving a promise of greater things to come.

Osten won Runner Up Best In Show award at the tender age of 8 months (under breed specialist Ms Lorraine Buchanen) and All Breeds Best In Show at the age of 10 months.

The latter win qualified him to become the first dog to be eligible for the Queensland PAL Puppy of the Year AND Dog of the Year contests simultaneously.

His In Show wins included awards from many Specialist Judges.  As he continued to mature, he continued his winning ways in the show ring, and was consistently in the winners circle.

He also won the Reserve Dog CC and Intermediate In Show at the Queensland Cocker Spaniel Club Speciality Show in 1997.

When I decided to let him go, John and Del Hughes of Jyndel Kennels (SA) gladly took this lovely boy on.  They continued to show him sparingly, and won a Best in Group with him and then continued to use him in their breeding program.

It is with great sadness that Osten passed away early in 2007 - rest in peace sweet boy until we meet again.
