The littlest star of Macdolly sadly taken well before her time and missed by so many - she touched the hearts of all who met this lovely little girl with the biggest heart and the lickiest tongue giving kisses to all she met. This page is our tribute to the beautifu 'Baci' loved and owned by Paul and Belinda Vesey-Brown.
A great friendship was forged between us and Paul and Belinda upon the acquisition of 'Baci' - this lovely girl gave so much to everyone and lived up to her name completely. Litter sister to Ch Macdolly Morris Starman, 'Baci' and 'Morris' competed against each other in fine style in the showring.
The only girl in the litter, she was sold to Paul and Belinda on the arrangement that we could show her and see if she could get her title. Well this she did in fine style, winnig from her very first outing until her last . 'Baci' had many In Group awards to her credit from the Baby and Minor Classes and continued her winning ways with numerous Reserve CC's - in fact she won 8 Reserve CC's from the Minor Class along with 5 Minor in Group awards. She then took her first CC and never looked back, making her presence felt in the ring against much older and Champion competition.
At the Cocker Spaniel Club of Qld Championship Show July 2004, the Critique by Maria-Luise Doppelreiter from Austria for 'Baci' says it all
"Well proportioned black bitch, lovely head and expression. Good body..... Good coat and condition."
In August 2004 'Baci' won 1st place Puppy Bitch and Opp Sex Puppy of Breed - Brisbane Royal - what a great thrill for us as our team had also won both CC's at this Royal as well.
She went on to finish her title in fine style with many wins to her credit, including Best of Breed under well respected breed specialist, Mr Geoff Love (Lovlang fame).
Due to personal work commitments, 'Baci' retired from the ring once she had completed her title, making selected appearances once or twice a year. Known as the Studio Manager, 'Baci' was with Paul and Belinda almost every waking moment. They had the luxury of taking her to work with them each day, and she greeted the clients and employees with her 'Baci' kisses and enthusiasm.
In late February 2007 this lovely little girl was 'off her food' very unusual for a Cocker and a trip to the Vet brought about the very sudden and devastating news that she was in end stage Liver Failure. Our beautiful doll gave up her fight for life just three weeks later and it was with great sadness that she left us all in body on 13/03/07 at just three years of age. Tests confirmed that this was not a genetic conditon, and Baci had been involved in our car accident weeks prior, and it is unknown if her internal injuries resulted in the liver damage.
There is so much more we could say about 'Baci' but it all brings tears to our eyes. This little girl was very very special and can never be replaced in our hearts.
She may be gone but she will never be forgotten - sleep peacefully 'Baci' until we all meet again.
